The Berks County community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Officer Kristen Yeager, a dedicated member of the Central Berks Regional Police Department who died in the line of duty on Friday, May 29, 2026, following a crash while responding to a call for service in Earl Township, Pennsylvania.
According to authorities, the tragic incident occurred shortly before 8:00 p.m. near the intersections of Manatawny Road, Shoemaker Road, and West Philadelphia Avenue in Earl Township. Officer Yeager was responding to assist fellow officers when her patrol vehicle left the roadway, entered a ditch, and struck a tree. She was transported to a nearby hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries. No other vehicles were reported to be involved in the crash.
State Police identified Yeager as a 42-year-old resident of Boyertown. Investigators continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the crash.
