A massive three-alarm fire broke out Wednesday at an apartment complex in Dallas, prompting an urgent rescue operation after reports of an explosion and partial roof collapse at the scene.

According to reports shared by independent incident monitor William Petty and emergency scanner traffic, the fire was reported at approximately 409 East 9th Street in Dallas. Dallas Fire-Rescue crews responded rapidly after flames engulfed portions of the apartment building and heavy smoke became visible across the area.

Scanner reports indicated that a partial roof collapse occurred during the fire, significantly increasing dangers for both residents and emergency personnel working the scene. Authorities also received reports that multiple people may still have been inside the building as firefighters launched rescue and search operations.

Witnesses described hearing a loud explosion before flames intensified throughout the apartment complex. Numerous fire engines, ladder trucks, ambulances, and police units converged on the area while emergency crews worked aggressively to contain the blaze and evacuate residents.

Dallas Fire-Rescue teams reportedly initiated interior searches while firefighters battled flames from multiple sides of the structure. Emergency officials continued assessing structural stability as portions of the building sustained severe fire damage.

At this stage, authorities have not publicly confirmed the number of injuries or whether fatalities have occurred. Investigators are expected to examine the cause of the explosion and fire once the scene is stabilized and emergency operations conclude.

Residents throughout the area were urged to avoid the scene and allow emergency responders access while rescue efforts remained ongoing Wednesday evening.
