Police in Saint Paul are investigating a downtown shooting incident that prompted a large emergency response near the Saint Paul RiverCentre complex, with authorities confirming that multiple people were injured during the gunfire incident.

According to investigators, officers responded after multiple 911 calls reported shots fired near the RiverCentre parking ramp along West Kellogg Boulevard. Responding officers reportedly encountered active gunfire in several nearby areas as they arrived at the scene.

Authorities secured several locations during the response, including areas outside the RiverCentre parking ramp, the nearby Grand Casino Arena, and the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts. Multiple law enforcement agencies converged on downtown St. Paul as officers worked to secure the area and locate those involved.

Police confirmed that two young adult males suffered gunshot injuries during the incident. Officials stated that the injuries were believed to be non-life-threatening, and emergency medical personnel provided aid at the scene before the victims were transported for further treatment.

Investigators also confirmed that three suspects were taken into custody a short time after the shooting. Authorities have not yet publicly identified those detained or announced possible charges as detectives continue examining what led to the violence.
