Former Matt Brown, known for his appearances on the television series Alaskan Bush People, is feared dead after troubling reports emerged from Washington state, though authorities have not officially confirmed his death.

The concern began after the Okanogan County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting that a man had been seen sitting in shallow water along the Okanogan River south of Oroville, Washington. According to authorities, the caller briefly looked away and then saw the man face down in the river and drifting downstream. A firearm was reportedly recovered near the location where the man had been seen. Search efforts were launched, but difficult river conditions complicated recovery operations.

Matt’s brother, Bear Brown, shared an emotional video stating that witnesses believed the person seen in the river was Matt. However, Bear emphasized that the information had not been officially confirmed and that authorities had not identified the individual publicly.

Reports indicate that Matt had struggled with addiction and personal difficulties for years and had become largely estranged from much of the Brown family. Family members have expressed concern for his wellbeing in recent weeks.

At this time, authorities have not confirmed Matt Brown’s death, and search efforts remain ongoing. Until official identification is made or a formal statement is issued by law enforcement or family representatives, reports about his death remain unconfirmed.

The situation continues to develop, and additional verified information is expected as investigators and search teams continue their work.
