Police in Tulsa are investigating a disturbing incident involving several juveniles after authorities said an 11-year-old was arrested following an alleged assault on another child and an encounter involving an Orbeez-style gel blaster directed toward officers.

According to preliminary reports, officers responded after receiving calls regarding a disturbance involving a group of children and teenagers in a Tulsa neighborhood. Authorities stated that during the incident, one child was allegedly assaulted by multiple individuals before police arrived at the scene.

Investigators said officers later encountered at least one juvenile reportedly carrying an Orbeez-style toy gun, which was allegedly pointed toward responding officers during the confrontation. Police quickly secured the situation and took an 11-year-old into custody without reports of serious injuries.

Authorities emphasized that while Orbeez guns are considered toy or gel-blaster devices, they can closely resemble real firearms and create dangerous confusion during active police responses, especially in tense or fast-moving situations.

The investigation remains ongoing as officers continue reviewing witness statements, video evidence, and the circumstances surrounding the reported assault and police encounter. Officials have not publicly released the identities of the minors involved due to their ages.

Community members expressed concern online following reports of the incident, with many discussing youth safety, supervision, and the risks associated with realistic-looking toy weapons.

Police urged parents and guardians to speak with children about the dangers of pointing replica-style devices at others or law enforcement officers, noting that such situations can quickly escalate during emergency responses.
